In order to help alleviate some stress on your big day, Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales Coordinator has put together a helpful list of “Must Dos” before you and your special someone say “I Do.”
Be sure to print this list off, share it with your friends and keep for your records (as you work hand in hand with the Kaiser Realty Group Sales team) to ensure a fantastic wedding experience on your big day.

Sixteen to Nine Months Prior to Your Wedding Day
- Start the Guest List - Begin by combing through you and your fiance’s contact lists.
- Contact Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales Coordinator at (800) 225-4853 to find the perfect accommodations and reception location for your Gulf Shores & Orange Beach wedding.
- Research Photographers, Bands, DJs, Florists and Caterers – Contact Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales team for recommended wedding partners in the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area.
- Throw an Engagement Party – Be sure to invite people that you plan on having included on your wedding guest list.
Eight Months Prior to Your Wedding Day
- Reserve Rooms for Your Out-of-Town Guests – Contact Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales team to receive special Group rates on beach condos and vacation homes for your celebration.
- Launch a Wedding Website- Creating a personal page allows guests to view your registries, “save the dates,” and other information regarding your wedding.
- Shop for Bridesmaids’ Dresses – Allowing 6 months is very standard for ordering and sizing bridesmaids’ dresses.
- Meet with the Officiant – Mapping out the ceremony and confirming your official documents is especially important when planning a destination wedding!
- Reserve all Structural and Electrical Equipment – Book items such as additional chairs, lighting, portable toilets, electrical generators and tents.
- Arrange Transportation – Parking is very limited in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach properties, so contact Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales Coordinator to verify the best practices for arranging shuttles, limousines or town cars for off-site parking.
- Start Creating a “Day-Of” Schedule of Events – This will help keep your entire wedding party heading in the right direction as time starts ticking down until your nuptials.
Five to Four Months Prior to Your Wedding Day
- Book your Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner Venues – Kaiser Realty, Inc. can provide you with the perfect space for your rehearsal or rehearsal dinner venue! Simply call Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales Coordinator to be paired with the ideal location for your events.
- Check on Wedding Invitations – Ask the stationer for a sampling of your finished invitations so that you have time to make revisions if necessary.
- Send your Guest List to your Bridal Shower Host – If the shower is a surprise, please skip this step.
- Purchase your Wedding Shoes and Begin your Dress Fittings – Bringing your shoes to your first fitting with your tailor will help ensure the proper dress fit.
- Choose your Music – Plan which songs you want to be played during each stage of your big day. Make sure to state which songs you would NOT liked played as well.
Three Months Prior to Your Wedding Day
- Order Wedding Favors – If you will be handing out favors as guests leave, be sure to order these with enough time to make changes if necessary.
- Make a List of the People Making Toasts – Help assign speaking parts to those family members that love to talk!
- Choose the Readings -Pinpoint which readings you would like recited during your ceremony, and assign them to members of your wedding party.
- Purchase your Undergarments - You will want them for your second dress fitting appointment.
- Finalize the Order of your Ceremony and Reception – Make sure to map out the order of events from start to finish to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
- Print Menu Cards and Programs – These can easily be done on a home computer or have your stationary creator make them for you.
- Send your Schedule of Events to all Vendors - The vendors will need to know exactly when to have your equipment set up.
Two Months Prior to Your Wedding Day
- Review the Arranged Playlist of Songs with the Deejay or Band - You may not be able to control every song that is played, but be prepared to have your wish list of songs that you would like played, and those that you would not like played.
- Set Date for Girls Night Out – If you have not been told by your Maid of Honor when a night out with your girlfriends is scheduled for, be sure to ask.
One Month Prior to Your Wedding Day
- Enter RSVPs into your Guest-database - Keep track of who has responded and contact those that have not.
- Get your marriage license - Contact the Kaiser Realty Group Sales team for information concerning acquiring your marriage license.
- Visit the Dressmaker for your last (hopefully!) dress fitting - You may also want to go ahead and schedule a final fitting for the week of the wedding to ensure no problems arise. If the dress fits perfectly prior, however, feel free to cancel.
- Make Final Payments - Send in your final payments on all condos and reception areas.
- Confirm appointments for your Hair stylist, Make-up artist and Service Vendors - Be sure to allow an ample amount of time between appointments.
- E-Mail and Print Out Directions for All Transportation Providers - This will ensure that the limo, town car and shuttle drivers know where they are going and when they will need to be there.
- Assign Seating - Consult Kaiser Realty’s Group Sales team to help coordinate the layout of your reception and ceremony locations. Once completed, send final diagram to the Group Sales Coordinator and schedule security officers.
- Purchase Bridesmaids’ Gifts - Be sure to show your appreciation for the lovely ladies that help make your wedding unforgettable.
- Write Vows - If you are writing your own vows, be sure to have these done a few weeks prior to your big day. This will ensure you have plenty of time to practice.
- Get Your Hair Cut and Colored (If Desired) - Doing this a week or two in advance can help ensure you have the hair style you always dreamed of on your big day.
The Week of Your Wedding
- Send Bridal Party a Wedding Timeline - Make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time with a well detailed “Wedding Timeline.”
- Final Check In with Photographer - Supply them with a list of moments that you would like captured during your ceremony, reception, arrival and departure.
- Book a Spa Treatment - Making an appointment to get a manicure, pedicure or relaxing massage is a great way to relieve stress on the days (or hours) leading up to your ceremony.
- Break In Your Shoes - Walk around the house in your wedding day shoes a few times before your big day. This will help them be more comfortable as you are walking down the aisle.
- Assemble and Distribute your Welcome Baskets - Put fun trinkets and goodies into your welcome baskets for your wedding party.
