The Entrence to Hantgout fest 2010The success of the 2011 Hangout Music Festival has been a hot topic across the nation since the event came to a close this past May. With nationally acclaimed acts raving about the surf, the sand and how well the festival was organized, it is without a doubt that 2012 will draw in even bigger acts for the 3rd annual festival.

The scale of the production, management of the day-to-day activities and the beautiful Gulf Coast weather all came together to create an entirely unique, successful and fun weekend for all in attendance. Complete with a one-of-a-kind line up of musicians and the Gulf of Mexico only a few hundred feet away, the Gulf Shores Public Beach was transformed into a fantasy world for music fans, festival lovers and families looking to share a new kind of beach experience.

With anticipation building for more than 6 months, it was no surprise that the first batch of General 3-Day, VIP and Super VIP tickets sold out in less than 3 hours after the launch of the festival’s [Read more...]

O.A.R. coming to The Hangout, October 20th

Have you been feeling the pains of “Hangout” withdrawal?

Does the yearning to be listening to great music at one of the Gulf Coast’s premiere music venues keep you awake at night?

Well, luckily for you, the good people at The Hangout have prescribed the cure for your “cool-weather music blues” with a rockin’ night of tunes from platinum recording artist, O.A.R.!

This talented group of musicians has come a long way from laying down tracks in their Rockville, Maryland basement, and the proof is definitely written in their most recent effort, “King.”  The follow-up to their [Read more...]

“I don’t want to leave the Hangout” yelled Grace Potter of “Grace Potter and the Nocturnals,” halfway through the band’s Friday afternoon set. “I want to stay here forever with all you beautiful people.”

Potter’s quote pretty much sums up the feelings of both the musicians and participants of this year’s Hangout Music Fest. Boasting sold-out ticket sales (35,000 tickets) and practically sold out room accommodations from Fort Morgan to Orange Beach, nobody can claim the event was not a success.

The weekend festivities began Thursday evening at the pre-party, open to those who opted for the extra night’s ticket, giving those in attendance a sneak peak of what was to come. Friday, the opening day of the festival, could have been described as hectic but fun, with thousands of people excitedly waiting outside the gate to exchange their paper tickets for the 3-day wristband before the festival’s 1 pm start time.

“The priority is the fan experience,” Shaul Zislin, the festival’s founder, told a Press-Register [Read more...]
