Jay will be in town with his wife, country music star, Sara Evans, and their 7 children.

Jay and Sara will be joined by 27 year radio vet and Opening Drive Co-Host Tony Kurre along with his wife and children.

Sports fans and everyone who loves the Alabama Gulf Coast can tune in on June 23rd for a remote broadcast. Not only will the show be carried on WJOX, but on all 34 markets that carry the Paul Finebaum show (including XM and Sirus). The remote broadcast is taking place at Lulu’s from 4-6 p.m.

Dear coastal inhabitants everywhere and all who know the joy of putting their toes in the ocean:

I can’t remember when we have had a lovelier spring along the Gulf Coast.

In recent years, we have gone from crisp, clear mornings in February to tropical 90s temps by mid-March. But this year, it finally seemed that we were getting back to normal — back to the easy, Southern rhythms of my childhood, with the winter season moving gently into a luscious spring.

Spring was taking its own sweet time unfolding before diving head-on into the desperate heat of summer.

Everyone could feel it. You couldn’t help but notice the majesty and color of the coastal foliage bursting with brilliant pinks and purples, sounding the calls that we wait for all year long: “Let’s go to the beach!” [Read more...]

The 23rd Annual Nautical Night of Lights Boat Parade is scheduled for December 13, 2008 and will begin at 5:30 p.m.  The annual boat parade will set sail from Homeport Marina, located next to Lulu’s in Gulf Shores, AL. The boats will travel east along the Intracoastal Waterway and continue into Wolf Bay until reaching Terry Cove. The boat parade will end at Zeke’s Marina in Orange Beach, AL.
