One of the most welcomed summer traditions in Gulf Shores is the return of the talented young actors from the University of Alabama, The “Summertide Theatre.” Making Gulf Shores their home for the month of June, since 2004, the Summertide Theatre group performs Tuesday through Sunday evenings through June 29^th at the George C. Meyer Performing Arts Center.

Continually bringing exciting musical theater performances to the Alabama Gulf Coast each and every summer, this year is no exception for the young theater group! With their performance of “Smokey Joe’s Café – the Songs of Leiber and Stoller,” this young group of performers bring tunes such as “Hound Dog,” “Yakety Yak,” and “Spanish Harlem” back to life, as well as countless other anthems from the 1950s.
