SEC BeachFest Turns Gulf Shores into College Football Headquarters

Gulf Shores, AL – August 27, 2012 – This past weekend, the NCAA Southeastern Conference kicked off the college football season with a family friendly event by transforming the Gulf Shores public beach into a football focused “Fan Zone.” Boasting attractions such as appearances by current SEC coaches such as Nick Saban of the University of Alabama, Gene Chizik of Auburn University, and Les Miles of Louisiana State University. The 2012 SEC BeachFest also featured appearances by legendary coaches Pat Dye, Frank Broyles, Phil Fulmer and Gene Stallings. Festival attendees were treated to photo opportunities and autograph signings with coaches, the National Championship Trophy and school mascots. Other attractions such as the presence of the SEC Coaches Trophy, players clinics for the kids and live music throughout the weekend, visitors were enveloped in an exciting and passionate atmosphere leading up to the first games of the 2012 football season. The 41st Annual National Shrimp Festival Hits Gulf Shores October 11-14

It is well known that Gulf seafood is among the best in the world, and in Gulf Shores, they throw one of the largest Seafood festivals in the nation to showcase it!

Kicking off October 11 and running through the 14th, the 41st Annual National Shrimp Festival is guaranteed to serve up plenty of family fun, fantastic entertainment and mouth watering seafood dishes throughout the entire weekend.

Held along the Public Beach in Gulf Shores, festival attendees are in for a treat as they can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as enjoy their tasty cuisine with their sand in the sugar white sand.
