Hurricane Warning lifted for Gulf Shores, curfew in effect: {Released by the City of Gulf Shores, Aug 28th} - The National Weather Service announced at the 10:00 a.m. CST advisory that the Hurricane Warning for Mobile and Baldwin Counties has been replaced with a Tropical Storm Warning. At this time, Governor Robert Bentley announced that the mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted, as well. After evaluating these recent developments, City of Gulf Shores officials will begin allowing re-entry to credentialed residents and business owners in Zones 33-35 at 12:00 p.m. today. Residents and business owners will be allowed access to their properties; however, general travel throughout this area is prohibited.

Due to the significant storm surge and flood threat that still remains, Zone 32, which encompasses the Laguna Key area of West Beach, will remain closed at Callaway Pass Bridge. No access to this area will be allowed, until further notice. Residents and business owners needing to obtain re-entry decals may do so at City Hall during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., by providing proof of residency and identification. The City of Gulf Shores will enforce a curfew in these restricted areas, beginning at 8:00 p.m. tonight through 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29. Anyone on the roadways during this time will be stopped and escorted out of the area.
