As residents of the Alabama Gulf Coast, we are able to enjoy the beauty and wonder of the sugar white sand beaches and the breathtaking Gulf waters each and every day. To some, this has been simply a way of life since their childhood, and for others, visiting the beaches and coastal areas is the highlight of their entire year. In order to keep our beaches healthy and the wildlife and vegetation in as pristine a condition as possible, the city of Gulf Shores is sponsoring the Beach Renourishment project to help restore and protect the beautiful coastlines of our area. These efforts are especially necessary following this year’s storm season, which brought Hurricane Isaac to the shores of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

Listed below are the approximate dates (as of November 13, 2012) that each section of our Gulf Shores beaches will be receiving special attention in the forms of underwater dredging, and other necessary procedures to fantastic coastlines for years to come.

·         Little Lagoon Pass to Gulf State Park – November 23rd to December 31st

·         Gulf State Park – December 31st to January 16th

·         Orange Beach – January 16th to March 14th

·         Perdido Key – March 14th to March 29th

As we receive further updates regarding the time frame and work being done to help restore our beloved coastlines, we will be providing updates to all of our past, present and future guests on our website.
