The Palms 1014, upon arrival, was welcoming with its freshness. It was clean, comfortable, spacious for three adults, and overall one of the best beach trips ever to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores. From check-in at Kaiser to departure, we have only positive comments and memories of our stay at The Palms, unit 1014. Thanks to the housekeeping staff, they found a purse with cash inside that I had left in a bedroom drawer. The supervisor called me immediately to let me know. My purse and cashier's check from Kaiser arrived so promptly in two days. The beach was gorgeous and we had a delightful time. We used to winter in Sarasota, Florida but have been coming to Orange Beach for 4 years. We love the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area. We feel welcomed by the residents and service employees in all the establishments that we frequent. A variety of entertainment is available, including Casinos which are about 1 1/2 hours away. We do wish that Alabama had gaming facilities like Biloxi. It would add to the tourism significantly. We have stayed in this particular condo for 8-10 weeks the last two winters. Both years we have experienced routine maintenence problems that Kaiser (with the prompt approval of the owners)took care of immediately. This year the dryer died and we were having visitors the next day and needed to have clean linens. With one phone call, we had clean linens for our guests, a new dryer and all was well. This particular unit is in need of some updating. The bedspreads and decorative pillows need to be replaced. The microwave is rusting on the inside and is hard to clean, and although the outside of the refrigerator needs a resurfacing, it is functioning. A new LR TV would add to the enjoyment of the property. The master bedroom carpeting needs to be restretched as it has a myriad of bumps in it that is a safety hazard. It still seems to have lots of life left in it, but a good cleaning would help, as would cleaning of the LR furniture. Don't misunderstand me, I realize that this is a rental property and the owners have provided a lot of amenities for us. Weekly renters are different than seasonal renters. We like the dining room chairs that roll, comfortable mattresses, mirrored walls, new window coverings and the keyless lock, which we love. The kitchen was equipped better this year, as well, with a new coffee pot, lots of silverware, etc. All in all, our continued choice of location, rental agency and rental property speaks to our enjoyment. We can go anywhere we want to spend our winter months and we choose #1014 Palms in Orange Beach, Alabama!
