This coming July (2013) will be our third year in a row to stay at this property. Our group of five families (a total of 23 people) has never felt crowded in the Sea Monster. The small den on the second floor is perfect as a kids retreat/tv area, thus leaving the main floor (kitchen/living area more adult friendly (quieter). The duel refrigerators and dishwashers helps keep things manageable with such a large group. The private pool (shared with the east side) is perfect for when you want some sand free freshwater, and it perfect for epic volleyball matches (bring your own net and ball). It's right on the beach, so going back and forth from your lounge chair to the house is quick and easy. There are no high rises in the vicinity of the sea Monster, so the beach never feels over crowded. This property is one of the best and very affordable when the rental rate is divided among several families. After you stay here it will be easy to understand why this place books up a year in advance. The check in and out process is simple and easy. We loved the home, spacious, and well appointed. It is close to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and most importantly, the ocean. There are numerous areas to gather for impromptu visits, and the main room is adequate for larger groups. It is very well maintained. There are quite a few steps, but necessary to accommodate a large group.

The S. E. A. Monster provides an excellent base for large groups to visit the lovely white beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Our group of 28 or so college friends has stayed in the house, renting both east and west sides, for three consecutive years. We find that the house is large enough to accommodate that number for sleeping, and also provides various living and gathering areas for smaller groups. Having both sides of the house makes it especially fun, so if your group is large and you want to go to the beach to relax and enjoy each other's company, this is the house for you! With its beachfront location, the house is a great choice for easy access to the ocean. Just across the street are restaurants and shops, which provide even more convenience. Don't miss out on the excellent Gulf seafood, available at many nearby locations. Many places prepare seafood to order and pick up, making meals at the house even easier.

The house was thoughtfully designed and is very easy to enjoy. It is fairly new, clean, and in great shape. No mildew or musty odor as some others have. Our group of 13 adults was very comfortable here - The kitchen has 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers, and all that you would need for a week at the beach. If you like to cook, you might bring a sharp knife. When we had a problem with the coffee maker, it was a replaced in 15 minutes! We are all very impressed by the service and quick response of the rental company and will be returning next year for the 3rd in a row. There are TVs in every room, although we didn't use them. You are ON the beach and have a private pool. I recommend renting both sides if your group is large enough - because the houses connect at the kitchens, so you have 2 kitchens, 2 living areas, and plenty of room to be together or separated. Great balconies on all floors. Surrounded by houses, not a high-rises, which is great. The only drawbacks are the 4 stories (we will pack lighter next year), and the pillows are uncomfortably hard. Hopefully they will upgrade them, but you might want to bring your own.

SEA Monster is a wonderful home to rent. The beach house is in amazing condition and all the decorations give the house an upscale yet relaxing feel. The one huge problem that ruined the end of my stay had to do with the owners or those who worked for the owners. The final day as we were packing to leave the owners confronted us about the condition of the house. (The house had one minor problem which had already been taken care of.) The two men stormed through the house and tried to say to us that we owed them hundreds of dollars for the house's condition. The men then threw a plastic chair off the third floor balcony to the ground where we were packing our cars. All of us had to duck from the plastic shattering around us. The men were rude and cursed at us, and I would not want anyone else to go through what we had to. We were so frightened by the then that as soon as they walked far enough away we got into our cars and left. It was an amazing week, in an amazing house, that was ended rudely.
