Abalone Shores sits directly on the lagoon with private Gulf access across the road. Located approximately 5.7 miles west of Highway 59 on West Beach Blvd, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath Gulf Shores beach home features a large deck, covered porch and double carport area.
The center of the house has a large living/dining area, and kitchen with laundry room. The southwest end of the house has a master bedroom with king size bed, deck entrance via sliding glass doors, and private bath with double vanity sinks. The other two bedrooms are located on the east end of the house, each with a double bed adjacent to the full size hall bath.
Swimming, fishing, or boating in the lagoon or on the beach, this house has the best of both water worlds. This home does not have pier or dock facilities.

The entire interior of the house could use a facelift. It could use fresh paint, master bedroom mattress is sunken in, and deck railing felt unsecure. The house got the job done, but it wasn't anything to write home about.

We have stayed at this house twice a year for many years. Location is great, Ocean across the road lagoon at back door, no high rises in sight. The house seems to get a little shabbier each year, Could use a new stove.and the King-size mattress in the Master bed room is like a roller coaster. But we are not fancy people. The excitement this year consisted of finding a large snake on our back steps and watching a good semeratin rescue an injured Heron. This a good house for two old Beach bums who love to walk the Beach, read books,dine on the porches, and watch the sun set on the Lagoon. See you next year!!!

Normally my family vacation closer to fall but the property was great and we will rent here again.

The weather was wonderful and the water was still reasonably warm.. We love having water on both sides of the house and especially watching the bird life on the lagoon. This is a very comfortable house and is reasonably priced. Gulf Shores has many good eating places, but we especially recomment Bayside Wine Bar and Grill on 16th. It has an excellent menu and the decor is the best we have seen in GS This is way above the many good fried fish places because of the great chef and the wonderful sauces.

Location of property is good...nice and quiet. Property does need some TLC. During our visit, the roof and the chimney leaked. Dishwasher also didn't cycle properly. Front windows and door needs to have blinds to improve privacy. Currently the front windows only have some makeshift curtains tacked up that appear to be bed sheets. Front door also needs to have lock installed that requires a key to open from the inside to provide additional security. Property could be very nice but it's very outdated and needs some decorative upgrades.
