7th Annual New Years Eve Bash at the Beach

The Wharf in Orange Beach is finishing the year out with a BANG New Years Eve, December 31st.

The Wharf has set up a night of family fun celebration mixed with the largest fireworks show on the Gulf Coast! There will be a Kid Zone complete with a bungee jump and Ice Skating. Several different restaurants at The Wharf will all be offering dinner specials, there will be live music on the Main Street Stage starting at 7 p.m., and free admission for the whole family!

New this year to the New Years Eve Bash ,The Wharf will be selling VIP tickets to the fireworks show. The tickets will offer unlimited beer and wine along with hors d’oeuvres and the best seats in the house to watch the show. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. They are available for purchase through The Wharf Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Pricing for the tickets are $75 a piece.

2nd Annual Slip & Slide Polar Bear Dip

Slip and slide your way into the New Year!

Join fellow Polar Bear Dippers on New Years Day at the Main Beach in Gulf Shores for a non-traditional Polar Bear Dip. The party starts at 11 a.m. and the dip will be at 12 p.m. with the party continuing through out the day.

The local Kiwanians, along with The Hangout and the City of Gulf Shores, will set a 33 foot slip and slide that will drop Polar Bear Dippers right into the Gulf of Mexico.

All participants will be treated to a FREE buffet at The Hangout directly after your chilly plunge into the New Year. Prizes for the best costume and the best team will also be presented after the Dip at The Hangout along with a special cash award and trophy for the Snowbird Club with the most number of participants.

Ring in the New Year ringing the Gulf water out of your hair! Sounds crazy huh?

Join people from all walks of life as they take an icy plunge into the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday, January 1st at the Flora-Bama.

The Polar Bear Dip will be held at high noon following Worship on the Water. There will be live music through out the day on the several different stages and they will also be serving up the traditional New Year treat, Black Eyed Peas, complimentary of the Flora-Bama.

Come out and join hundreds of Polar Bear Dippers, some in costumes or just in their regular swimming attire, as they take “the dip” to ring in the New Year.

Coastal Christmas

November 23rd signals the official Kick Off of Coastal Christmas! What is Coastal Christmas? Coastal Christmas, since most everyone knows the only thing white we see here all year is the beautiful sugar, white sand beaches (no complaining here), our community has put together different events to help get in the Holiday Spirit! The first event they have in line up this year will be Santa by Fire on November 25th at the Gulf State Park Pavilion. But the fun doesn’t stop there!

December 1st pictures with Santa have been arranged at the Cotton Bayou Beach Access from 2p.m. to 5p.m. with all proceeds benefiting youth mission trips.  After you get your pictures made and while you are all dressed for the occasion, head on over to the Taste of the Islands, presented by The Mystic Order of Mirams at The Wharf Conference Center. The Taste of the Islands will be held from 6p.m. until 11p.m. There will be a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots. Visit The Mystic Order of Mirams  for ticket information.

The fun continues to roll through out the month with a very exciting Santa Drop on December 8th at the Flora Bama. Santa, leaving the reindeer’s at home to rest up for their big night, has decided to parachute onto our beautiful beaches to join us all in the fun of great live music, entertaining games, and to provide himself for wonderful Christmas photos to be taken. Visit Coastal Christmas for a complete list of all events being held from November 23rd through January 1st.
